What is the Peer Mentor Program?
Grad school can be hard, and sometimes you may need a little direction and guidance from someone who has been in your shoes. Hence, the Peer Mentor Program aims at providing mentees guidance and learning from their peers as well as mentors the opportunity to develop, and strengthening relationships between students. Each mentee, who is usually a first-year student, will be assigned a continuing student as a Peer Mentor. We pair up mentors and mentees based on their interests.
Who is eligible for this program?
All participants of this program must join OHDCC officially prior to applying for the program (i.e. you have paid $40 life-time membership dues. If you have not paid and would like to participate in the Peer Mentor Program, please see here for instructions to pay.)
What is the program timeline?
- October 5th: Application goes live
- October 16th: Application deadline
- October 21st: Participants will be notified who their mentor/mentee will be
- October 25th: Mentor Program orientation
Note: after the orientation, the mentor and mentee will determine when and how they would like to meet.
